Summer House icon Lindsay Hubbard once earned her living as a high-flying PR boss. It’s no wonder, then, that she has a lot of celebrity connections. However, she recently revealed that one celebrity (read: Paula Abdul) thinks of her like a family member.
Paula Abdul calls the Bravo star her “almost niece”
While chatting to her ex fiancé and fellow Summer House cast member, Carl Radke, on his More Life podcast this week, Lindsay opened up about another one of her former flames … Paula’s nephew.
In the episode, Lindsay explained she spent a lot of time with Paula (as often as “every day for months”) while she was dating her nephew. That’s why the singer, dancer, and TV personality now refers to Lindsay as an “almost niece.” How sweet!?
“Even to this day, she’s like, ‘Lindsay was almost my niece.’ And I was like, ‘No, I wasn’t,’” Lindsay explained. To that, Carl recalled a time they had crossed paths with Paula, and she “said that again.” According to Carl, the declaration caught him so off guard that he thought Paula was joking, but Lindsay swiftly corrected him and explained it was “dead serious.”
Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Lindsay talked about one of her more recent relationships … that being, with Carl himself.
Although Carl admitted to initially feeling nervous about her coming on the show, ultimately, he was “excited” that she wanted to take part. Presumably, that’s because things have been very frosty between the duo following their breakup, although the Scamanda drama has somehow brought them closer once again.
“I think we had to go on the journey that we did,” Lindsay said of exactly that. “I also think that this scandal within our cast … we almost instinctively banded together to protect our house.”
