Pax Jolie-Pitt appears to be keeping one foot connected to his father’s side of the family despite ongoing reports of distance between him and Brad Pitt. While the actor’s relationship with several of his children has faced public scrutiny in recent years, family ties haven’t been completely severed across the board.
The latest update suggests that even amid the lingering fallout from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s lengthy split, Pax continues to maintain a bond with some of his paternal relatives. It’s a reminder that family relationships can be a lot more complicated than simply picking sides.
Despite the distance with his father Brad, Pax still stays in touch with his relatives
According to a source who spoke to Page Six, Pax Jolie-Pitt recently joined members of Brad Pitt’s family for a special celebration honoring his cousin Sydney Pitt’s engagement to Archimede Jerome.
“Pax still has a relationship with his dad’s side of the family and continues to spend time with them,” the insider told the outlet. The source added that he “recently joined his family as they went out to dinner and celebrated his cousin Sydney’s engagement to Archimede Jerome.”
The gathering reportedly included Brad’s sister, Julie Pitt Neal, along with niece Reagan Pitt and several other relatives. Sydney announced her engagement earlier this year, sharing the happy news on Instagram with the caption, “I said yes (duh).”
However, while Pax appears close with extended members of the Pitt family, another source claimed the situation is different when it comes to his father. According to Page Six, the insider said Pax “doesn’t have much of a relationship with Brad.”
The reported family dynamic comes as several of Pax’s siblings have publicly distanced themselves from the Pitt surname in recent years. Zahara recently filed paperwork seeking to legally become Zahara Jolie, while Maddox reportedly filed documents to remove “Pitt” from his last name as well. Shiloh successfully dropped Pitt from her surname in 2024, and Knox reportedly used “Knox Jolie” on his high school diploma earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Pax has continued appearing alongside Angelina Jolie at public events, most recently attending a charity pickleball fundraiser with his mother and sister Shiloh. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finalized their divorce in December 2024, ending more than eight years of legal proceedings after Jolie first filed in 2016.
