Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s highly anticipated wedding celebration has become the talk of the town. Meanwhile, fresh reports suggest the couple, who are both 36, are scheduled to marry in New York next week.
Documents tied to street closures around Madison Square Garden are drawing new attention to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce
According to TMZ, Swift and Kelce are reportedly planning a large wedding event on July 3 at Madison Square Garden (MSG). Sources with direct knowledge told the outlet that a permit has been filed with New York City to close streets surrounding MSG from July 2 through July 4 in connection with the planned event.
Space for tents, canopies, and trucks around the arena has reportedly been requested by event planners, as city officials continue to operate on the assumption that a major Swift-related event will take place at Madison Square Garden.
It is also reported that several Kansas City Chiefs players, Travis Kelce’s longtime NFL team, have already arranged stays at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square during that time window.
Several outlets previously reported that Swift and Kelce are set to exchange vows on July 3 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. However, Swift and Kelce have not publicly confirmed any wedding date, venue, or ceremony details.
For their wedding, the couple is reportedly handpicking their guest list, choosing a close-knit circle rather than a large celebrity-filled celebration. The Sun reports that Swift’s close friend Gigi Hadid is likely to be one of her bridesmaids, alongside Selena Gomez and the Haim sisters.
Romance rumors between Swift and Kelce, both 36, began in the summer of 2023 after he spoke about her on his podcast New Heights. On August 26, 2025, Swift announced her engagement. In an Instagram post, she shared a series of photos said to have been taken in the backyard of Kelce’s Kansas City home, and wrote, ”Your English teacher and gym teacher are getting married.”
