Donald Trump‘s approval rating has plummeted not only in the country over the past few months but also on the international stage, according to a recent poll. The US president’s contentious policies of late, especially regarding Iran, the conflict in Gaza, and tariffs, have resulted in a decline in favorability toward both Trump and the US among the global public.
Despite the general trend, however, Israel continues to stand in Donald Trump’s corner, giving the United States the highest approval rating among its peers.
Donald Trump’s approval rating falls internationally except in Israel
According to a recent study published by the Pew Research Center, 81% of adults in Israel hold a favorable opinion of the US, which is the highest among the surveyed nations.
In sharp contrast, at least 80% of participants from five areas carry a negative viewpoint of the States. These regions include Turkey, Sweden, Malaysia, Pakistan, and the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Even in Israel, despite the overall positive response, ratings among Arabs have experienced a sharp decline and currently stand at 19%, as compared to 29% from last year.
A similar trend has emerged in the poll on Donald Trump, with the Philippines, Israel, Nigeria, and Kenya the only countries among the 36 surveyed where more than 60% of the public has voted in favor of the Republican Party leader. Once again, in Israel, 79% of Jews have showcased confidence in Trump, while only 13% Arabs have a positive outlook towards him.
Participants from a whopping 26 countries in the poll have given Donald Trump an approval rating of 30% or less. In Turkey, as well as in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, the rating numbers stand in single digits. Notably, there is no surveyed country in which attitudes towards Trump have become more positive.
