JD Vance Has Unexpected Title for His Wife After Podcast

US Vice President JD Vance has jokingly given his wife, Usha Vance, a surprise nickname after the latter posted the receipt of her maternity dress on social media. The Republican politician praised his partner’s resourcefulness before quipping that she should be in charge of the federal budget by giving her an unexpected title.

JD Vance responds to Usha’s dress receipt amid drama

On June 25, the former Ohio senator took to social media to share a surprise moniker for his wife, after she purchased a maternity dress for less than 20% of its original value.

“She bought a $50 dress for $8.75. America: meet your next director of the federal budget!” JD Vance wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) profile while replying to his better half’s post.

JD Vance’s response comes after his wife, Usha Vance, who is currently pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, fired back at a New York Times report claiming her maternity dress carried a deeper political significance. She actually donned the attire during a Father’s Day episode in her YouTube series, Storytime with the Second Lady, which also featured the Vice President.

“For an administration that has such an intuitive and strategic understanding of the power of aesthetics that an unspoken dress code in which men outfit themselves in the image of the president has developed, it has also become a telling one,” the report read.

Consequently, JD Vance’s wife hit back at the media outlet with an X post of her own, wherein she also attached the actual price of her maternity dress.

“Now that we know the political significance of my $8.75 coral maternity dress from Old Navy, can’t wait to hear what the New York Times has to say about my elastic-waistband pants and compression socks! In the meantime, enjoy my pregnancy fashion (or lack thereof) and a good story with your kids on Storytime with the Second Lady,” Usha Vance noted.
