Millie Bobby Brown has opened up about her friendship with Tom Cruise, calling herself a “female Tom Cruise.” The Stranger Things alum also revealed the things the 63-year-old actor keeps encouraging her to do.

During a live recording of the Happy Sad Confused podcast on June 24, the 22-year-old Emmy-nominated actress expressed that she calls herself a female version of the Mission: Impossible star, a comparison she first made in 2024 when she revealed she does her own stunts.
Horowitz followed up by asking whether they know each other personally. To which Brown replied, “He’s a dear friend. He’s a wonderful man, and I’m very lucky to call him my friend,” states People. The actress went on to add that Cruise, who became a licensed helicopter pilot after undergoing intense training for Mission: Impossible — Fallout in 2018, “does the craziest stuff,” noting he’s encouraged her to fly a plane and that she has flown his helicopter. Brown shared that she decided it would be the last time she flew any of his equipment, noting that she finds doing her own stunts a “thrilling experience.”
Brown, who is a mother to a baby girl with husband Jake Bongiovi, further added, “I really want young girls to think they can, you know? You’ll always hear an older actor say, ‘Don’t do your own stunts,’ and I get that. But back in the day, they might have been throwing you against a wall, and now, if you get a really great stunt coordinator and you learn how to land and you learn the whole technique of it, we as actors should know how to do certain things.”She quipped that although she wants to do nearly everything herself, her contract won’t allow the final 10 percent, even though she asks.
Brown is currently promoting Enola Holmes 3, where she returns as Sherlock Holmes’ sister, ahead of its July 1 premiere. According to Deadline, she also has multiple upcoming projects, including Just Picture It and Nineteen Steps, based on her debut novel.
