David Harbour has revealed details about his reunion with a co-star in a new spy thriller. He teased the project as something fans will not expect.
David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown will reunite as father and daughter in a spy thriller series
According to Deadline, Harbour and Brown will reunite in a new A24-produced Netflix spy thriller. The project was written by “Adolescence” creator Jack Thorne, with both stars also serving as executive producers.
The upcoming Netflix thriller follows Matt Wolfe, a disgraced FBI agent turned security expert. He is pulled back into the field when his estranged daughter, Rebecca, an FBI agent, disappears during a mission. Brown and Harbour will once again play a father-daughter duo.
Speaking at Awards Radar’s Take Ten, Harbour revealed that the roles leverage the connection fans loved in “Stranger Things.” He explained, “Millie and I, I think we wanted to bring you something with the chemistry of [Hopper and Eleven], of me and her, that will surprise you and that will be rich, and have that deep emotion, but also be just wild. So I’m really excited to be back with her.”
He also stressed that the relationship was memorable to fans, saying, “One of the most beautiful things about Stranger Things was people love that show and they loved Hopper and Eleven. They loved that relationship.”
Harbour praised both the writer and the studio, saying the project has “a lot of stuff to say about this modern contemporary world we’re living in.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Harbour spoke fondly of the HBO Max series “DTF St. Louis.” He called it “one of my greatest working experiences.”
Harbour is best known for playing Jim Hopper in Netflix’s “Stranger Things” and Red Guardian in Marvel’s “Thunderbolts,” while Brown rose to global fame as “Eleven” before starring in films including “Enola Holmes” and “Damsel.”
