Prince Harry Accused of Letting ‘Arrogance’ Drive Security Fight —Expert

Prince Harry is letting “arrogance” drive his stance on security, says an expert. Russell Myers, the royal editor, recently wrote a piece describing Harry’s security stance. In a post covered by The Mirror, he mentioned that Harry is once again putting himself into a difficult situation. The Duke of Sussex reportedly continues to fight the government over taxpayer-funded security instead of following the necessary procedures laid out by the Home Office.

Royal commentator criticizes Prince Harry’s security stance

As Prince Harry gears up for the reported upcoming UK visit, a royal expert has weighed in on his security stance. In a post covered by The Mirror, Russell Myers criticized Harry’s stance on security. He mentioned that Harry would be granted the protection he wants if he follows the standard process for requesting security during his visits.

Moreover, Myers adds that if Harry informs officials about his travel plans in advance, they can properly assess any potential threats. However, the writer claims that Harry believes this arrangement is not sufficient. The article also acknowledges that there are valid arguments on both sides of the dispute.

Harry is said to have legitimate security concerns as he is the King’s son. Plus, his children are in the line of succession. Additionally, as a former soldier, he has faced threats against both him and his wife, Meghan Markle. However, the writer argues that since Harry stepped down from royal duties and is now financially independent, he can afford private security.

Myers further adds that for the Duke of Sussex, this has become a matter of pride. He writes about Harry’s refusal to accept that he cannot expect special royal treatment. According to Myers, it has turned into “arrogance” on Harry’s part. Meanwhile, the expert adds that the King cannot interfere with government security decisions. This is even though he wishes to see his grandchildren eagerly.
