Recently, on the Alex Cooper podcast, the singer shared her past relationship experience when the host asked about her song about cheating. She said, “I’ve seen a lash extension, and I didn’t have them in the shape of a tile on the shower floor or like a hair tie. This man was having sex with these women in your home. Not my home. Oh, but his home.”
Bailey explained that finding those items immediately raised questions, especially after she had already received messages from women claiming they had been involved with her boyfriend.
She kept it internal and texted her godmother about the situation, who is her go-to person for life. Cooper asked how she confronted her then-boyfriend, to which she replied that he denied it. However, the singer revealed she was cuddling her boyfriend despite knowing that she was not ready to leave her night routine with him.
Before discovering the evidence of her boyfriend cheating, she had been receiving DMs from girls with similar claims, according to OK Magazine. She reached out to her godmother but kept this from her sister Halle Bailey, who would have crashed her out.
Bailey released her main cheating song, “Cheatback,” in 2023, which focused on infidelity, turning the tables, and exploring its popularity as a revenge anthem among fans. She also has another song based on a similar theme called “Boy Bye”, which focuses on leaving an unfaithful partner.
During the conversation, she talked about her career, and the host congratulated her on her successful career and Grammy nominations. However, Bailey’s candid revelation gave fans new insight into the relationship that inspired some of her music and the moment she realized something was wrong.
