US President Donald Trump once again lamented not receiving a Nobel Prize during his America’s 250th anniversary speech. In his latest address, he made the remark while touting the country’s global achievements and “American exceptionalism.”

According to a report by The Daily Beast, it appears that the US President is still dissatisfied with not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. During his speech at Mount Rushmore, Donald Trump once again expressed his grievance about not winning the award. The president commented as he listed some of the nation’s achievements and spoke of “American exceptionalism.”
“Americans have won the most Olympic medals of any country in the world by far, the most Nobel Prizes,” Trump said. Following a pause, the president added, “Well, they haven’t given me one.” Trump further claimed that he “settled eight wars,” complaining that he should have received the honor because of it. The president added, “I still haven’t gotten it, but that’s OK.”
Trump has long voiced his desire to receive the esteemed award. He has also publicly made his case multiple times in the past. In January 2026, the president stated, “I can’t think of anybody in history that should get the Nobel Prize more than me.”
That same month, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado presented her Nobel Peace Prize to Trump. This was reportedly a symbolic gesture in recognition of his support for Venezuela’s democratic movement.
Soon after, the Nobel Committee clarified that a Nobel Prize recipient cannot share the award with someone else. “A laureate cannot share the prize with others, nor transfer it once it has been announced,” the Committee declared. “A Nobel Peace Prize can also never be revoked. The decision is final and applies for all time.”
Last year, during a White House meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump stated, “They will never give me a Nobel Peace Prize. It’s too bad. I deserve it, but they will never give it to me.”
