Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift reportedly set a wedding security rule so strict that police weren’t exempt. The couple’s strict device policy for the big day banned not just phones, but also Meta glasses. Despite being the most-hyped wedding of the year, the newlyweds managed to keep details of their July 3 celebration at Madison Square Garden private through extensive measures.
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding guests were checked for Meta glasses, claims report
It wasn’t just a phone-free wedding for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. According to , security went a step further, scanning for Meta Smart Glasses and discreet recording devices that could capture footage from inside.
This lines up with the outlet’s earlier reporting on the strict device rules. NYPD officers working inside the wedding were reportedly directed to leave their phones behind or forgo the assignment.
However, on July 4, Josh Charles’ wife, Sophie, posted an Instagram video with the caption, “Snuck a phone into MSG.” It turned out to be a joke, as the clip showed her playfully holding a tiny gold flip phone pendant from her brand, Mad Fine.
The celebration was filmed by a professional production crew. Sources shared that attendees were informed that it wasn’t ordinary wedding coverage and that the footage was intended for “a movie” project.
According to earlier reporting, the couple wrote their own vows and read them at the ceremony. Swift even performed a portion of hers, moving Kelce to tears. Adam Sandler presided over the service, blending heartfelt moments with humor.
At the July 3 reception, guests also took home a sentimental keepsake. It was an ivory, lace-trimmed handkerchief. The fabric was embroidered with the couple’s “TT” monogram, wedding date, and venue. Along the bottom was stitched “So it’s gonna be forever…,” a line from Swift’s “Blank Space.” The detail was revealed in an Instagram photo shared by singer Maren Morris.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, return gifts also included luxury items like Cartier watches, Chanel and Dior handbags, and even a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle.
