Donald Trump Reportedly Threw a Tablet During Justin Trudeau Call

Donald Trump reportedly had a tense virtual meeting with Justin Trudeau in the Oval Office last year. A new report claims that the president hurled his tablet across the table in frustration during the phone call.

According to a Sunday, July 5 report by The Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump reportedly connected with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over a video call, just weeks after beginning his second presidency. French President Emmanuel Macron, who visited Trump at the time, was also present for the call.

The outlet says that the virtual meeting did not go well. Trump reportedly grew “frustrated with a technical issue that prevented him from chiming in.” According to an official who witnessed the incident, the president “lobbed the device over the Resolute Desk and onto the floor.”

This isn’t the only report of Trump chucking things in the past out of frustration. Last month, the president abruptly ended an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press. He stormed out after tossing his microphone to the ground. He walked out of the interview after presenter Kristen Welker challenged his claims that the 2020 election was rigged.

In December 2020, Trump threw his lunch against the wall after former Attorney General Bill Barr told the press that there was no evidence supporting that the 2020 presidential election was rigged. Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aide, later detailed the incident in 2022. She testified that “there was ketchup dripping down the wall, and there was a shattered porcelain plate on the floor.”

Hutchinson further stated, “There were several times throughout my tenure with the chief of staff that I was aware of him either throwing dishes or flipping the tablecloth to let all the contents of the table go onto the floor and likely break or go everywhere.”
