Prince Harry’s Invictus No-Show Sparks Questions After Crushing Court Defeat

Prince Harry’s latest visit to the U.K. has sparked fresh speculation as he skipped a major “Invictus Games” event after spending two days attending other events.

Prince Harry’s absence came shortly after his legal loss to Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) in a privacy breach case.

Prince Harry skipped Birmingham’s Invictus anniversary event after attending earlier engagements following his High Court loss

According to The Royal Observer, Prince Harry did not attend the Birmingham event celebrating the first anniversary of the Invictus Games’ partnership with London Northwestern Railway.

Prince Harry also chose to visit the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London and talked to veterans and nursing staff there. His team had a strange explanation for this visit – the premises of the hospital were not accessible to the media, and the decision was also made due to the ongoing heat wave and the limitations of the old building.

According to People, the event instead featured television presenter JJ Chalmers, who represented Prince Harry and the Invictus Games Foundation during the unveiling of the first specially branded locomotive, “The Spirit of Invictus.”

Harry’s absence comes amid a difficult period following his High Court defeat in the long-running privacy case against Associated Newspapers Limited. The lawsuit, brought alongside several other high-profile claimants, accused the publisher of unlawfully gathering information over many years. However, the court dismissed the claims, ruling that the evidence presented was insufficient to prove unlawful information gathering. The publisher has also indicated it intends to recover its legal costs.

Prince Harry’s U.K. visit has been a subject of debate for quite some time. Harry was refused state-funded security for the visit, which may have influenced his decision to travel solo. There also has been speculation about whether Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children would visit the royal family.

All in all, several influencers may have worked together to lead up to Harry’s decision to not attend the event.
