Ex-NFL Star Marcellus Wiley Hit With $500K Bank Judgment as Domestic Violence Case Looms

Marcellus Wiley faced another legal setback after a judge ordered him to repay more than half a million dollars to a bank over an unpaid loan. The ruling arrived just days after the former NFL star was arrested and became embroiled in a highly publicized divorce and domestic violence case involving his wife, former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member Annemarie Wiley.

The judgment stemmed from a lawsuit filed months before Wiley’s recent arrest. Court records showed that Preferred Bank claimed the former football player borrowed $500,000 in May 2023, agreed to repay it within a year, and allegedly failed to do so.

TMZ reported that a judge ordered Wiley to pay Preferred Bank $549,429.82, which included the original loan amount along with interest, attorney’s fees, late charges, and other costs. The outlet noted that the bank first filed suit in December 2025, months before Wiley’s domestic violence arrest in Florida over the July 4 weekend.

The financial ruling came as Wiley’s personal life remained under intense scrutiny. Us Weekly reported that Annemarie filed for divorce after 12 years of marriage and also sought a temporary restraining order for herself and the couple’s three children.

According to the outlet, a judge granted a temporary no-contact order requiring Wiley to stay at least 500 feet away from Annemarie, their children, their Encino home, and her workplace. The outlet also reported that Wiley was ordered to surrender a Glock 9mm handgun and provide proof of compliance at a July 24 restraining order hearing.

In court filings cited by Us Weekly, Annemarie alleged years of verbal, physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, including claims that Wiley raped her multiple times during their relationship and exercised financial control over her. She also alleged he threatened to kill her during the incident that led to his arrest. Wiley denied the allegations when speaking with police.

Following the arrest, Wiley addressed the accusations on X. He wrote that he had “compiled videos, photographs, text messages, emails, and other evidence that directly contradicts those baseless claims” and said he intended to defend himself through the legal process.

Wiley also wrote, “I never wanted my family’s issues and struggles to become public for any reason, including divorce leverage,” adding that his focus remained on “my children, my integrity, and the truth.”

The former Pro Bowl defensive end enjoyed a 10-year NFL career with the Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and Jacksonville Jaguars before transitioning into sports broadcasting.
