Miranda’s ex Chase McWhorter accepted a plea deal in his DUI case
The reality TV personality reached a plea agreement with Utah prosecutors in his DUI case, allowing him to avoid jail time. According to TMZ, McWhorter pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor DUI charge under a plea agreement approved by the court.
In exchange, prosecutors dismissed the remaining charges. They recommended a sentence that includes one year of probation and 48 hours of community service. The recommendation also includes a substance abuse evaluation and treatment, along with the installation of an ignition interlock device. McWhorter was also fined $1,383 and ordered to attend a victim impact panel.
During the Fourth of July weekend last year, Bluffdale Police stopped McWhorter in Utah after his vehicle allegedly drifted out of its lane multiple times and nearly struck a curb. According to reports, officers said they detected the odor of alcohol and observed bloodshot eyes and slurred speech during the traffic stop. He was then arrested on charges of DUI, possession of cocaine and fentanyl, and driving on a suspended license.
McWhorter’s DUI case has continued for months. According to court records, he missed his first hearing, and a warrant was issued for his arrest that same day. His attorney later entered a formal not guilty plea, and the warrant was recalled. A scheduling conference in the case was set for January 13, 2026.
McWhorter and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Miranda Hope married in 2017 and divorced in 2024. They share two children, son Brooks, 7, and daughter Cohen, 5.
