Brit filed a motion in their ongoing divorce case last month. In the documents, obtained by Us Weekly, Brit accused Michael of not paying the mortgage on their shared home or paying her $2,800 monthly car payment since January, when she filed for divorce.

Brit announced their separation on social media. She shared the news with a photo of her and Michael. In the caption, she wrote, “I’m posting this on the last day of 365 to remove this facade of faking like this marriage is going to work.”

Now, in legal documents filed on June 1st, Brit alleged that she is unemployed while Michael (who is an investor and developer) earns $30,000 per month.

“(Cunningham) has been the breadwinner during the marriage. (Eady) is completely reliant on him for financial support and maintenance,” the documents stated. They further alleged that he is “financially abusing her.”

The pair were married in 2021 and purchased an Atlanta home. While the mortgage is in Brit’s name, she alleged that Michael always paid the bills. The documents claim that his late payments on the mortgage have “adversely affected Brit’s credit status in an attempt to gain leverage in the divorce proceedings.”

He has also stopped paying Brit’s $429 monthly car insurance premium and other bills, such as homeowners association dues and utility bills.

According to Brit’s motion, she was employed before the marriage. But her adverse credit ratings, allegedly due to Michael’s acts, have made her unable to qualify for “specific employment opportunities.”

Brit also alleges that he has “engaged in acts of contempt” since the divorce filing.

Michael has not yet commented on Brit’s allegations or latest filing. They are due back in court on July 31, 2026.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is streaming on Peacock.
