Jacob Elordi could laugh about his final scenes on “Euphoria,” but filming Nate Jacobs’ exit tested him. The actor jokingly blamed Sam Levinson while revisiting the shoot behind the character’s death.
Jacob Elordi reflected on Nate Jacobs’ death torture from HBO’s Euphoria
Jacob Elordi took a swipe at “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson during a July 20 appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Colman Domingo served as guest host and asked about Nate Jacobs’ storyline. “I think Sam brought me back to torture me,” Elordi joked. He said the “Euphoria” Season 3 shoot required six weeks of running, staged beatings and punishing scenes.
Elordi then described spending two days inside a coffin. Prosthetics covered his face, a fake tongue filled his mouth, and makeup limited his vision. Levinson eventually added a live snake.
The Nate Jacobs death scene shows loan sharks trapping him underground after his business dealings collapse. A rattlesnake enters the coffin through a breathing tube and kills him. The production used a nonvenomous boa constrictor with a fake rattler for Elordi’s close-ups.
Elordi said the snake behaved like “a little dog.” It repeatedly curled up near his feet, so he gently nudged it when the scene required more movement. He also teased viewers who had demanded Nate’s downfall. “I read your tweets,” he said before adding, “Now you’re sad.”
Levinson previously explained that he designed the ending to challenge the audience’s appetite for revenge. He wanted viewers to receive the punishment they had requested and then confront its cruelty. Nate became the first major character to die during HBO’s “Euphoria” Season 3.
Elordi called the ending “a cool way to go.” He also discussed the foot injury that forced him to miss Cannes. He wore a cast while Nate lost fingers and toes. The actor spoke warmly about the series. Elordi said landing Nate’s role changed his life when he had little money and planned to leave Los Angeles.
His comments undercut cast drama speculation and made the Levinson remark sound like teasing, not a feud.
