Anthony Fauci appeared visibly frustrated during a walk with his wife just hours after the Senate hearing
Dr. Fauci and his wife were power-walking near their $2.4 million Washington, D.C. home on Wednesday evening when cameras captured him visibly frustrated and dropping an F-bomb, as reported by the New York Post.
Fauci fumbled with his phone during the outburst. He was seen wearing a Georgetown University “IronMed 5K” T-shirt as he blew off steam by power walking.
The frustration came just hours after Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right more than 100 times during a stunning four-hour Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing about COVID-19. The Brooklyn-born doctor refused to answer any questions fired at him by Sen. Rand Paul.
Paul, who subpoenaed Fauci and has long accused him of covering up COVID-19’s origins, didn’t let the non-cooperation slide. The Senator announced after the hearing that his committee would move forward with contempt of Congress proceedings against Fauci over his refusal to answer even basic questions from Republicans.
The 85-year-old doctor served as the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) for 38 years. He retired in December 2022 and moved to Georgetown in 2023. Fauci joined the faculty there as a distinguished professor in the Infectious Diseases Division of its School of Medicine.
Fauci’s walk offered a rare public glimpse of his private life. The couple has been married for 41 years. Grady worked as chief bioethicist at the National Institutes of Health. She was then reportedly fired soon after Trump’s second term began. Grady now serves as senior advisor on bioethics and neuroethics and a professor of neuroscience at Georgetown.
