Jax Taylor’s lawyer has accused Brittany Cartwright of delaying their ongoing divorce. According to him, it’s not Jax that is holding up the proceedings but the fact that his estranged wife was unprepared at a recent hearing. The Valley star’s legal team claims that Jax is ready to resolve everything and move forward, but it’s been difficult to do so without Brittany fulfilling her requirements.

Jax’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told TMZ that “Jax is doing everything he can to move forward.” He further claimed that Brittany’s team went into their recent court date unprepared.
According to him, Jax recently participated in an all-day settlement conference, but Brittany’s team did not have the financial documents and paperwork needed. Due to this, they didn’t make any further progress.
Jax’s lawyer claimed Brittany’s lack of paperwork rendered the whole hearing “useless.” He shared that his client wants to resolve everything. According to him, Jax feels it’s in everyone’s best interest, especially their son, to finalize things. However, “It’s impossible to settle a case when only one party is seemingly motivated to do so.”
Meanwhile, a source close to Brittany told US Weekly that statements claiming that she is delaying the divorce are simply not true. The source claims Brittany has participated in the process in good faith and “remains committed to reaching a fair conclusion for everyone involved, especially their son.”
The source further added that the ongoing divorce was delayed for several reasons, including financial issues and Jax’s time in rehab. But Brittany is focused on protecting their son and moving on with her life.
Jax and Brittany tied the knot in 2019. Their son, Cruz, was born in 2021, and Brittany filed for divorce in 2024. The former couple is co-parenting their son now, and both have explored other relationships. Brittany recently split up with boyfriend Brandon Hanson. Jax, on the other hand, is dating Lori Krebs. Lori was the pair’s publicist for over a decade.
