Cruz’s latest single, Seeing Red, was released on Friday. The song is part of his upcoming six-song EP, Wear & Tear. Some of its lyrics have prompted speculation about his reported fallout with Brooklyn.
One line from the song says, “Been seeing red for as long as I remember.” Another lyric adds, “Yeah, I said I’m already there.” The song also features the line, “The moment I drop this s**t, the whole thing’s over.”
The lyrics appeared to fuel speculation that Cruz was addressing his relationship with Brooklyn. However, Cruz previously explained that the song was intended as a comedic take. He said the track focused on an unserious moment of frustration involving sports.
“Seeing red is a comedic take on a totally unserious moment of frustration, in this case in sports,” Cruz explained. He added that the song reflected competitive emotions that could emerge during games. Cruz described the situation as “all fun and games.”
The song’s music video also featured Cruz and his bandmates playing football. The scenes appeared to reference his father David Beckham‘s legendary football career. However, the video later showed the players fighting before Cruz appeared bloodied and bruised.
Cruz has previously addressed his reported relationship with Brooklyn through social media. In December 2025, he reportedly claimed Brooklyn had blocked him and their parents. He later appeared to mock his brother after a TikTok user questioned his career plans. “Wrong brother mate,” Cruz replied to the commenter.
