Princess Eugenie has welcomed her third child with husband Jack Brooksbank. The royal baby is the couple’s first daughter and joins two older brothers. The British royal family celebrated the safe arrival in an official announcement.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank shared the birth of their daughter, marking their third child together
Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank welcomed their daughter on Monday, Aug. 3, at 6:20 p.m. at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, according to the Royal Family’s official announcement. The baby weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces.
King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other members of the royal family were “delighted” to receive the news. The announcement did not disclose the newborn’s name or include further details about when the family plans to introduce her publicly.
The baby joins Eugenie and Brooksbank’s sons, August Philip Hawke, 5, and Ernest George Ronnie, 3. The couple announced they were expecting their third child in May with a rare photo of the boys holding an ultrasound image. At the time, Eugenie wrote, “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!” The palace also said August and Ernest were excited to welcome another sibling. Moreover, King Charles was delighted by the pregnancy news.
Eugenie and Brooksbank married at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in October 2018. They welcomed August in February 2021 and Ernest in May 2023. The family divides its time between the United Kingdom and Portugal because of Brooksbank’s work.
Meanwhile, the new arrival is 15th in line to the British throne, moving the Duke of Edinburgh to 16th place. She is also the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Like her brothers, she will not hold the style of Her Royal Highness.
The joyful update follows Eugenie’s recent Father’s Day tribute to Brooksbank. She called him “the best there is” and said their children could not have asked for a better father. The official statement focused entirely on the family’s happiness and the baby’s safe arrival. More information, including her name, is expected to be shared when Eugenie and Brooksbank choose to announce it.
