Rep. Max Miller is facing a temporary restraining order filed by Stephanie Grisham. An attorney representing the 50-year-old former White House press secretary for Donald Trump announced the filing on August 3.
Stephanie Grisham has filed a temporary restraining order against Rep. Max Miller, according to court filings
Mark S. Zaid, the attorney representing Grisham, announced on X that he filed the motion on her behalf. He said the filing was submitted earlier that day with the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts in Cleveland, according to People. Zaid added that Miller is expected to respond to the complaint by August 13.
Grisham was in a relationship with Miller from 2019 to 2020 before later accusing him of domestic violence. In a 2021 Washington Post op-ed, she described what she alleged was an abusive relationship with Miller during his time as a White House staffer. Miller has denied the allegations against him. He later filed a defamation lawsuit against Grisham in 2022.
According to MS NOW, Miller, who represents Ohio’s 7th Congressional District, later withdrew his defamation lawsuit against Grisham. Both sides then entered into a nondisclosure agreement that barred them from making negative statements about one another.
Emily Moreno, Miller’s former wife, has also made allegations of physical and emotional abuse, along with claims of drug use. Moreno, the daughter of Ohio Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno, previously accused Miller of acting violently toward her, including allegedly holding a gun to her head. Miller has denied those allegations and accused her father of backing a campaign to “ruin” his life. Addressing the claims on August 2, Trump said he planned to review the situation. “So far it’s accusations,” he said, adding, “I’ll be looking at it.”
