Angelina Jolie has reportedly picked up an important court win in her long legal battle with her ex, Brad Pitt, over Chateau Miraval, the French winery they once owned together. The latest ruling does not end the case, but it does give Jolie a clear edge in one of the key disputes. At the center of this round was Pitt’s effort to get a set of Jolie’s private emails related to her 2021 sale of her stake in the property, but a judge reportedly favored Jolie and blocked that request for now.
Angelina Jolie secures big victory in Chateau Miraval legal case against ex Brad Pitt, claims report
Page Six exclusively reported that Angelina Jolie took over her ex, Brad Pitt, in their legal battle over Chateau Miraval. A judge reportedly ruled on Monday that Pitt could not force Jolie to hand over the emails because he had not done enough to defeat her claim that they were protected. The judge denied the motion without prejudice, which means Pitt can raise the issue again later.
Jolie’s attorney, Paul Murphy, called the ruling a major result for his client, stating to Page Six, “This is an important victory for Ms. Jolie,” adding, “The decision shows that Mr. Pitt was completely out of bounds when he sought access to obviously privileged documents.” He added, “Remember, he initially demanded 126 privileged documents, but then backtracked to 22, and now Mr. Pitt is getting nothing, zero.”
Additionally, Murphy alleged, “This is part of Mr. Pitt’s pattern of demanding control over anything Angelina, including control over her communications with her own attorneys,” and said, “We are extremely gratified that the both the Court of Appeal and the trial court ultimately put a stop to it.”
However, a source offered a very different view to Page Six, saying, “It’s notable how Jolie has withheld so many documents as privileged. These emails are just some of the evidence in the case.”
The Chateau Miraval fight began after Brad Pitt sued in 2022, claiming his ex, Angelina Jolie, sold her share of the winery without his approval. Jolie denied that such an agreement existed and contended with claims of her own.
