A newly published report is raising fresh questions about D4vd’s creative work before his murder case reached the spotlight. Former crew members have now reflected on one scene from the singer’s One More Dance music video that they say feels unsettling in hindsight.
D4vd crew members recalled an unsettling moment on set
According to a Rolling Stone investigation, several people who worked on D4vd’s One More Dance music video remembered the singer appearing unusually calm while filming a scene inside a car trunk. The video was filmed in January 2025, months before the alleged crimes reportedly took place.
The report states that the video opens with D4vd’s alter ego, Itami, dragging his body before placing it in a car trunk. Later scenes show the character buried alive as part of the video’s dark storyline. One anonymous crew member told the outlet that D4vd climbed into the trunk without hesitation. “He was just so comfortable in the trunk. He just hops in, of his own free will. It was so weird.”
The same crew member claimed the singer stayed distant throughout production. “I got Itami. I did not get David.” They added that he came across as “still-faced,” “eerie” and “like a ghost in human form.”
The report notes that crew members did not think much of the behavior at the time. However, many later revisited those memories after prosecutors announced the details of the criminal case against the singer.
The music video has drawn renewed attention
Rolling Stone reported that prosecutors allege D4vd, also known as David Burke, later placed 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s remains in the trunk of his Tesla after her death. Investigators also allege that he left the vehicle parked for weeks before authorities discovered the body. Burke has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
The publication also reported that people who worked with D4vd previously viewed his violent artistic themes as creative expression inspired by anime and video games. A former label source said no one saw warning signs during his rise in the music industry.
Since his arrest, several past music videos have received renewed scrutiny as the criminal case continues through the legal system.
