Kyle Richards revealed she wants to mend her friendship with Dorit Kemsley after their fallout on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The two have had several ups and downs over the years. Now, Richards has admitted that she wants to repair their friendship if she returns for another season.
Kyle Richards addressed the future of her friendship with Dorit Kemsley
Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly at the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th launch event in New York City on Aug. 4, Richards opened up about where she stands with her former close friend. “If I’m coming back…” she continued, “You know that I would repair things with Dorit.”
The 57-year-old RHOBH star said, “I would like to be able to put that behind us and start over and maybe get some things off my mind, some things that people had done and said this last season.”
Richards revealed that she did reach out to Dorit after the release of her memoir, Unburdened, in June. Richards added, “Other than that, no, I haven’t heard from her or anything.” However, the two haven’t spoken recently.
Despite their strained relationship, Richards admitted she still cares deeply about Dorit and her family. She also said she wishes they had leaned on each other while navigating their respective personal struggles.
“It’s sad to me because, you know, I did care about her, and I do care about her and her family,” Richards shared. “I just feel like we’re both going through so much and that we would have been much better off leaning on each other.”
The friendship between the two reality stars first hit a rough patch during Season 13. Dorit accused Richards of prioritizing other friendships over hers. The situation escalated when Dorit read one of Kyle’s private text messages during the reunion. Richards later said it left her feeling “shocked” and publicly embarrassed.
Their fallout continued into Season 14, with tensions rising further after Richards revealed she had remained in contact with Dorit’s estranged husband, PK Kemsley. The issue eventually led to an emotional confrontation between the two.
