Eilish plays Esther Greenwood in the psychological thriller based on Sylvia Plath’s 1963 novel The Bell Jar. The photos from the Toronto set show the singer wearing a 1950s-inspired style for the period film. She appears with shoulder-length dark brown hair, a matching percher hat and bold red lipstick. Her new appearance is very different from her typical pop star appearance.

In some behind-the-scenes photos, Eilish is seen in a bright, cherry red fitted top that complements her lipstick. In other photographs, she appears wearing a button-front dress with a fitted waist. Her makeup remains quite simple, aside from her bold lip, and pearl earrings finish the classic look. The transformation led fans to discuss her acting change on Reddit.
