Donald Trump invited Sandra and Brad, a Las Vegas couple, to join him on stage at the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa. The family appeared as Trump promoted his “no tax on tips” policy and Trump Accounts savings programme. Sandra and Brad brought their two young children with them.
As Sandra prepared to address the crowd, her toddler suddenly darted toward the edge of the stage. Trump ran behind him and stopped the boy from leaving. He then turned to the audience and gave his punchline. “I don’t want him to be Biden and fall off the stage,” Trump said.
The quip could be a reference to Joe Biden’s tumble on June 1, 2023. Biden tripped over a black sandbag holding a teleprompter during a US Air Force Academy graduation ceremony in Colorado Springs. He got up swiftly with help and sustained no injuries.
The toddler produced another crowd-pleasing moment shortly afterwards. Sandra told Trump that her son had something to share. “He did want to say a little something to you, Mr. President,” she said. Trump acknowledged the gesture with thanks.
The boy babbled into the microphone before his mother whispered a prompt. “Thank you for my Trump Account,” the toddler repeated. The venue erupted in applause. Trump smiled and clapped for the child. “Good job,” he responded.
Earlier, Trump had introduced the toddler’s family by explaining their occupations. Sandra works as a waitress at a Las Vegas casino. Brad serves as an officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The president told the crowd that the couple benefited from his administration’s tax policies. He added that they invest in Trump Accounts for their two children. “It’s a beautiful family,” Trump declared as they reached the stage.
