‘Highlander’ Star Christopher Lambert Collapses While Signing Autographs

Christopher Lambert collapsed while signing autographs in Pittsburgh. His rep says he is resting and doing fine. An ambulance carried the Highlander star out of a Pittsburgh convention hall. His rep explained why.

An actor dropped mid-signing at a convention over the weekend, and an ambulance pulled up soon after. His representative says the explanation involves nothing more serious than a missed night of sleep and too little food.

Christopher Lambert is recovering after low blood sugar led to his collapse at Steel City Con

Christopher Lambert suffered a medical emergency Saturday at a convention, according to TMZ. The Highlander star collapsed while he signed autographs at Steel City Con in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a witness told the outlet. An ambulance then carried him out of the convention hall.

Fortunately, the scare passed. A rep for the star told that he is “perfectly ok” and resting in his hotel room.

Rather than anything serious, the rep pointed to two simple factors. Christopher Lambert had not slept the night before and had not eaten much during the day, which dropped his blood sugar.

Christopher Lambert may still return to the convention floor. His Sunday appearance at the Comic-Con remained unclear, since it depended on how he felt. Even so, it is reported he is certain he will feel well enough to attend FAN EXPO Chicago next week.

Audiences know the actor best as the immortal Connor MacLeod in 1986’s Highlander and its sequels. Beyond that franchise, he played Tarzan in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes, and he appeared in the 1995 Mortal Kombat film adaptation.

This was not his first health scare, either. Last year the actor tripped on stairs and injured his back. Fortunately, he made a full recovery.
