Aubrey Plaza‘s boyfriend, Christopher Abbott, has finally broken his silence about expecting their first baby together. The actors have known each other for years, but did not spark romance rumours until last July. They have mostly kept their relationship out of the public eye.

Aubrey Plaza announced that she is expecting her first baby with Christopher Abbott in April 2026. On May 18, during his appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, Abbott opened up about his new role in life for the first time. He is currently busy promoting his Broadway production of Death of a Salesman. For his portrayal of Biff Loman, he has received a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play.
Abbott sat down for the interview with his Death of a Salesman co-star Nathan Lane. At one point, Jenna Bush Hager asked him, “And can we say congratulations? You’re expecting a baby with one of our—” The 40-year-old feigned annoyance, saying, “I thought for my Tony nom.” Then, he added, “No, no, I’m kidding. I know, I know, I know. It’s just too much. There’s too much going on.”
Today co-host Carson Daly quipped, “This is the real role of life—the role of dad.” Bush Hagar then noted that Plaza frequently appears on the morning show, saying, “We all love Aubrey here and we’re so happy for the both of you.” Abbott replied, “Yes, that’s very nice. Thank you very much. It’s very exciting.”
Plaza and Abbott first met each other when they were working on the 2020 film Black Bear. Three years later, they starred in the two-person stage play of John Patrick Shanley’s Danny and the Deep Blue Sea. The Parks and Recreation star first revealed the news of her pregnancy during her appearance on the Smartless podcast last month.
