Donald Trump’s political orbit is finding another way to put fitness in the spotlight. Lara Trump joined Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin for a filmed workout, turning a gym session into a preview for her Fox News program.

The unusual pairing appeared in a promotional video for My View With Lara Trump, which will feature the workout during its Saturday night primetime broadcast. Markwayne Mullin, 49, led the session alongside DHS personnel before Lara joined him for a series of exercises. The former Oklahoma senator also has a background in mixed martial arts (via The Daily Beast).
Mullin framed the workout as more than a fitness challenge. He connected physical readiness with the mission of agencies including Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Border Patrol and the Coast Guard. “We need to look intimidating,” Mullin said in the video, adding that his department works every day to protect the country. “There’s not a day that we have a rest day… Our mission is to protect our homeland, and there’s always somebody trying to get in.”
Lara, 43, then stepped into the action, performing a barbell hang while following Mullin’s lead. Afterward, the DHS secretary gave her a glowing review, calling the workout “rough” but saying she “was impressive” and completed every repetition. Lara is married to Eric Trump, Donald Trump’s son.
The workout fits a broader pattern inside Trump’s second administration. Officials have repeatedly turned exercise into social-media content. FBI Director Kash Patel recently showed himself running with federal agents, while Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have also posted workout-related material. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has even promoted exercise spaces at airports.
Lara later discussed the fitness trend on Fox News, where co-host Brian Kilmeade pointed out that President Trump does not share the same enthusiasm for workouts. Trump, 80, has largely favored golf for his physical activity. Lara responded with a playful defense of the family’s fitness habits saying “I’m working out for all the Trumps.”
