Ric Flair sent fans into a spiral over the weekend with a post about his ex Wendy Barlow.
“I Told You. It Was Only A Matter Of Time Until You Came Running Back!!” the 77-year-old posted via X on Sunday, Aug. 9. He praised her for taking better care of him than anyone else in the world, then declared there is only one Ric Flair and one James Bond. He closed by writing, “Let’s See If Wendy Still Has It! LFG!”
The two ended things in September 2024, closing out 13 years as a couple. They had staged a wedding ceremony in 2018, yet they never officially married.
Ric Flair clarified the viral post one day later.
That post spread fast. One day later, the wrestling icon came back online and addressed the Ric Flair Wendy Barlow relationship question head-on.
“Wendy And I Are Not Renewing A Relationship,” he wrote via X on Monday, Aug. 10. “We Are Renewing A 34 Year Friendship. She Has Her Own Residence And I Have Mine. She Is Coming To Tampa Primarily To Take Care Of Her Parents, Who Are Both In Their 80s And Not In Good Health.”
He had sharper words for anyone reading it another way. “Please Don’t Turn Something Positive Into Something Negative,” he continued, telling critics with nothing better to do to find something better to do. According to Flair, Barlow promises whenever they speak that she will show up again if his health fails. “I Was SICK For Two Years! Her Whole Family Took Care Of Me. Find Someone Else To Hate On! Wendy And I Are Good.”
He was pointing back to 2017, when doctors admitted him in critical condition with “multiple organ problems.” He had credited her before in the statement announcing their 2024 split. “She Never Left My Side!” he said then. “And For That I Will Always Be Grateful!”
His daughter, meanwhile, sized him up last month. “Dad is good. Dad is living his life the way he wants to live it,” WWE star Charlotte Flair, 40, told Us in an exclusive interview. “That’s the only way for him.” She admitted his posting habits occasionally make people look twice. “As of today, I did not have to yell at him about his social media,” she joked. “That is huge. Today he is not in time out. Today he is behaving.”
