Kelly Clarkson took a jab at workplace rules after confirming that The Kelly Clarkson Show will officially end in fall 2026. A source said the 44-year-old singer joked about the network’s strict HR culture during her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace. She said, “Sneeze and you’re in a meeting.”

A senior NBC source described Clarkson’s comment as “satire.” However, another insider said, “Everyone at 30 Rock understood exactly what Kelly meant. Everything is documented, every interaction is scrutinized, and people are constantly worried about crossing an invisible line,” according to RadarOnline.
NBC reportedly strengthened its workplace policies following the Matt Lauer scandal. Lauer was fired in November 2017 after a colleague accused him of inappropriate sexual behavior. A source said, “Nobody wants another crisis, so HR carries enormous influence. Some employees appreciate the safeguards. Others think the pendulum has swung too far.”
A source told the Daily Mail that NBC has a highly corporate culture and takes HR meetings and workplace complaints seriously. The source added that the network is “very rule-abiding.” Clarkson has also previously expressed frustration with daytime TV, saying its demanding schedule left little time for performing.
On February 2, Clarkson announced via an Instagram post that the show, which premiered in 2019, would end. She wrote, “I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ both in Los Angeles and New York. There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons.”
The singer, known as a vocal powerhouse, said the decision would allow her to “prioritize” her children. The post came after her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, passed away in August 2025 following a private battle with cancer.
