Gia Giudice Gave Alexia Umansky a ‘Special Forces’ Reality Check

Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Season 4 champion Gia Giudice gave Alexia Umansky some valuable advice ahead of her Season 5 debut. The 25-year-old told Umansky that the physical challenges are toughest at first, while the mental demands become harder toward the end.

Gia Giudice tells Alexia Umansky what to expect physically and mentally on Special Forces

Giudice told Us Weekly while promoting Next Gen NYC that Umansky reached out to her for the “lowdown” on the intense experience. And Giudice, who had faced the challenges firsthand, gave Alexia a reality check before her debut, saying, “The physical aspect of it was the hardest part for me. I felt like my body was crumbling. But then as you keep going on.” “I was like, ‘Alexia, we’re young, so yes, it was really hard for me in the beginning, but each day I genuinely felt my body getting stronger and stronger.’ So then, by the end, it’s more of a mental thing than a physical thing,” she added.

Giudice further explained, “I feel like in the beginning, the physical aspect really kicks your ass because you’re just not expecting it. But then towards the end, it’s the mental. I think that’s my biggest piece of advice: You really just have to balance yourself and try to stay sane and don’t think about how gross everything is and just do it.”

Giudice recalled knowing she would “get dirty” while competing on Season 4. As the competition progressed, she stopped worrying about keeping her hair clean, even though she had extensions. She said Special Forces made keeping her hair clean a low priority. Giudice also recalled joking with Bri LaPaglia that they were the only contestants “dumb” enough to compete with hair extensions.

Giudice added that she was often scolded for taking long showers because of her thick hair extensions. She admitted she should have removed the extensions but wanted to look good for the promotional photos.

Season 5 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test premieres on September 24. The upcoming season features 15 celebrities from the worlds of sports, entertainment, reality TV and social media. The cast includes Matt Barnes, former NBA player; Alycia Baumgardner, world champion boxer; Candace Cameron Bure, actress; Brandi Glanville, reality TV personality; and Mauricio Umansky, real estate broker, among others.
