Ex-Prince Andrew’s Fear of Being ‘Abandoned’ Explains a Royal Snub — Report

Ex-Prince Andrew reportedly declined an invitation from his brother, King Charles, to join his family’s Balmoral summer holiday in a new royal family news update. As per a friend of the Duke of York, he “feels he’s been abandoned.” For those unversed, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his royal titles by his older brother, King Charles. This was due to his controversial ties to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein

Ex-Prince Andrew reportedly declined Balmoral visit for this reason

Ex-Prince Andrew has reportedly turned down an invitation to spend the summer holidays at Balmoral. It is because he feels abandoned by his own family.

As per The Sun, a friend of the controversial royal revealed: “He feels like he is no longer part of the family. He was invited but has got no great desire to be at Balmoral as he has nothing to gain and would be treated as an outcast. What’s the point, he feels, of going all the way there for a much-needed holiday and being treated as an elephant in the room?”

This comes amid reports that Charles has not seen his younger brother at all this year. Notably, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor now lives at a farmhouse on the King’s private Sandringham Estate. Up to 30 royal family members are expected to mark their presence at Balmoral next month. Interestingly, the Duke of York spent up to two weeks by himself at the Scottish estate last year.

The Ex-Prince continues to face scrutiny over his past association with Epstein, which he has categorically denied. Buckingham Palace has not commented on the matter as of writing this article. Not just that, the Duke of York is also in the news for another reason. Andrew is reportedly set to receive a “National Royal Honor”, a ceremonial funeral. The report has prompted criticism from some royal commentators and members of the public.

An insider told Radar Online: “There will inevitably be people asking why Andrew should still receive such a significant national royal honor after everything that has happened. A ceremonial funeral carries enormous symbolism – and that is why the fact he is set to receive this national honor has become so controversial, and it has been met with real fury.”
