It would be a huge challenge for Meghan Markle to rebuild her reputation in Britain, says an expert. Prince Harry and Markle are reportedly planning to relocate to the UK soon after living in Montecito for more than six years. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their senior working royal duties in 2020. They later moved to California and bought a home there.
However, after living a separate life from the monarchy for so many years, Harry now wants to spend more time in his homeland and with his family. While Markle reportedly supports this idea, an expert says that she will have to make considerable efforts to rebuild her public image in Britain.
Meghan Markle faces a ‘huge challenge’ to change public perception in UK, per expert
An expert told HELLO! Magazine that Meghan Markle would face a “huge challenge” in changing the public’s perception of her in the UK. Prince Harry and Markle are reportedly planning to visit the UK soon and stay there for some time. The decision comes after their reunion with King Charles.
While returning to the UK is one thing, expert Nick Ede says that rebuilding their image in the country would be extremely challenging. According to Ede, the royal couple still have a fan base, and people continue to adore Harry. However, the same cannot be said for Markle, as the expert adds that it would be much harder for her to establish herself in the UK in any “shape or form.”
The expert continued, “It’s a challenge optically for them as it looks like they’ve come back with their tail between their legs, no matter how much you spin it.” The criticism comes after the former “Suits” alum openly criticized the UK and the nation’s press.
She also made several bombshell claims about how she was treated by the Royal Family, further drawing significant backlash. It remains to be seen how the Duchess of Sussex will attempt to restore her image in the public eye after making those claims.
