Tupac Shakur passed away many years ago, but his case finally went to trial in August 2026 and has continued to take new turns. Now, the case has taken another dramatic turn as record executive Suge Knight has shared his reaction to it.
Suge Knight claims Keefe D’s lawyers offered him $1 million over Tupac’s killing
The former Death Row Records CEO appeared on TMZ Live Tuesday and claimed that a lawyer for Duane “Keefe D” Davis offered him $1 million in connection with the case.
According to the 61-year-old, Shakur’s life “wasn’t no motherf***ing circus.” He added that many people have been speaking about the case simply to draw attention to themselves.
Suge Knight did not say whether Keefe D is innocent or guilty. However, he did claim that “definitely more than one person [was] involved” in Tupac Shakur’s death.
The California-born former record executive also alleged that corrupt and off-duty police officers played a role in Tupac’s death.
For context, Suge Knight is currently in prison, serving a 28-year sentence in a California state prison.
Tupac Shakur’s case dates back to Sept. 7, 1996, when a gunman shot the rapper in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. He suffered critical injuries and died six days later on Sept. 13, 1996.
After years of investigation, Keefe D was arrested on Sept. 29, 2023, on a charge related to the killing.
Keefe D had previously claimed in his book Compton Street Legend and in several interviews that he was involved in the murder plot and had provided the gun. His trial began in August 2026, with prosecutors arguing that Davis was not the person who pulled the trigger.
