Speaking to Daily Express US, Schiffer notes that the early days of the Sussexes in the US started well. However, it eventually soured into a “tour of whininess” and “victimhood, dressed up in a royal wrapper.”
With their American chapter winding down, Harry and Meghan’s UK return is being framed as a genuine reset. Insiders say the pair are pushing for a middle-ground role within the royal fold. This could be something closer to “royal plus” rather than the “half in, half out” compromise struck when they first stepped back from their duties.
The reputation expert believes that much of the coming shift will revolve around Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The couple’s likely priority this time will be shielding their children and carefully choosing which public appearances to accept, resulting in an overall lower public presence.
After six years in Montecito, California, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to settle in the Cotswolds.
