Tory Lanez Reportedly Fined $20K in Megan Thee Stallion Case

Tory Lanez was reportedly ordered to pay $20,000 for dodging questions related to Megan Thee Stallion’s case against YouTube blogger Milagro Gramz, also known as Milagro Cooper. The court warned him that failing to comply would result in fines after he refused to answer questions regarding the case. Unfazed, Lanez opted to pay the fine rather than respond.

Lanez was reportedly fined $20,000 for failing to respond to questions related to Stallion’s case during his third jailhouse deposition. According to Rolling Stone, he was held in contempt of court by U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisette M. Reid. She warned him that his attempt to block questions related to the case could get him fined. Expressing his approval of the fine and remaining silent, Lanez said, “Whatever the fines are, I’ll pay them. I’m a millionaire. I don’t care.”

The questions dodged by Lanez were as follows: “(1) How he first came to know Defendant Cooper; (2) Whether Mr. Peterson communicated with Defendant Cooper; and (3) Whether he sent Ms. Cooper Instagram direct messages or text messages.” (via Legal affairs and trials) After refusing to answer, it was reported that Lanez left the room. This was because he alleged that he was not shown the exhibits that were going to be used during the deposition. Later, he returned to the room, followed by derogatory comments toward Stallion’s lawyers. He headed out of the room once again, refusing to return.

Two attempts at depositions took place. In the first one, which lasted 44 minutes, Lanez “behaved inappropriately and personally insulted the attorney taking the deposition.” In the second one, when he learned the consequences of not obeying at the deposition, he told prosecutors to proceed as they liked. He mentioned that he already had 10 years in prison to serve. (via Complex)

This federal case centers on Stallion’s allegations that Gramz teamed up with Lanez to run a smear campaign after she testified against him in 2022. She also accuses Gramz of spreading false claims about her and creating deepfake adult content.
