Adam Sandler was ‘hurt’ after losing to teenagers in basketball

Adam Sandler reveals he and Timothée Chalamet did not fare well in a game of basketball against high school students. On the November 20 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Sandler recounted the time the duo played basketball with students from Los Angeles’ Fairfax High School.

Kimmel asked Sandler about the game, and the “Happy Gilmore” star bluntly confessed, “We lost that,” adding with a smile, “I can’t win every time.”

Sandler revealed he has known Chalamet since he was “young Timmy.” He recalled, “We did a movie and he brought it up that he got cut out of a movie I was in a long time ago. I knew him when he was, I think, at the end of high school. But the kid is so nice and funny.”

Kimmel asked if Sandler’s daughters were excited or annoyed because he knows the “Marty Supreme” actor. Sandler replied, “That’s a good one, man. They might not love how close I am with Timmy. When he comes to the house, good lord, things change in the house. Everyone’s putting on better clothes.”

Sandler further explained about the basketball game, “I didn’t want any of this. But what happened, me and Timmy did this thing together for Netflix. At the very end they said, ‘You guys will play two-on-two with some kids from the crowd.’ They got two random high school kids who played me and Tim.”

Furthermore, Sandler joked that Chalamet was “stretching out” before the game. “He quickly changed into sneakers,” he added.

The talk show host then showed the video of the basketball game that he and Chalamet lost against the high school students. Concluding, Sandler remarked, “Those two kids beat us, and they were cool as hell, and they enjoyed beating us. And I was glad to make them happy.”
