The scandal Andrew Mountbatthen-Windsor has found himself at the center of for the last two decades is not over yet. Weeks after the former Prince was stripped of his titles and evicted from Royal Lodge, he’s back in the headlines. A new report suggests that London’s Metropolitan Police is examining whether Andrew enlisted one of his taxpayer-funded protection officers to source private information about his accuser, Virginia Giuffre, in an alleged attempt to discredit her.
Ex-Prince Andrew was accused of hiring security to dig into Virginia Giuffre’s private information

According to details obtained by RadarOnline, the police have interviewed at least two of Andrew’s former protection officers. This follows the resurfacing of a 2011 email. In that email, Andrew allegedly provided Virginia’s date of birth and Social Security number to his security team.
The Met Police confirmed it is seeking notebooks, emails, and phone records from Andrew’s security detail and is assessing whether further action is necessary. Andrew has yet to comment on the claim. However, if the claim is true, it would have breached data protection laws and constituted misconduct in public office by an officer.
As part of the alleged investigation, the Met is looking at whether the former Prince used government resources to undermine Virginia, who accused him of having sex with her when she was just 17 years old. Andrew has consistently denied her allegations and settled their civil sexual assault lawsuit out of court in February 2022.
Sadly, Virginia took her own life in April 2025 at the age of 41. In the months that followed, her posthumously released memoir, Nobody’s Girl, brought these allegations back into public focus. Andrew later lost his last remaining titles and the lease on his Royal Lodge home.
