Watch where you’re going is a phrase we’ve all been told, but perhaps there’s a good reason not to. That’s according to Julianne Moore, who revealed a peculiar habit she engages in regularly.
The actress was recently asked by Kelly Clarkson about her routine of walking backwards, something she does regularly. She talks about the importance of enhancing your brain. She says that walking backwards really helps to engage the body. This was something that a trainer recommended she do years ago.

Doing something as uncomfortable as walking backwards may have plenty of long-term health benefits. That’s what Julianne Moore believes. On The Kelly Clarkson Show, Wednesday, she talked about what doing this can do. “It’s good for your body and good for your brain,” said Julianne.
The Academy Award-winning actress adds that walking backwards changes a pattern. “Anytime you learn something new, I think social engagement, intellectual engagement, all of those things are great for your brain.”.
Julianne recommends doing this while walking up a hill. She notes that this isn’t only good for your brain but for your health in general. It can also improve your blood pressure, your weight and your exercise routine, all things that she says are really important.
The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered a new season in the fall, a little later than usual. This was so that Kelly could be there for her kids after her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock’s, death.
Years ago, Julianne won an Oscar for her role as a woman dealing with Alzheimer’s in Still Alice. She’s got two upcoming movies currently in post-production. She’ll be starring in an untitled Jesse Eisenberg musical comedy and an action film called Control opposite James McAvoy.
Her last movie, Echo Valley, was released on Apple TV+ in June.
