Thanksgiving’s almost here, and Jason Kelce is bracing for the holiday madness. On the latest New Heights podcast with his brother Travis, he admitted he’s gonna be “totally useless” while juggling his four little girls, letting his wife and mother-in-law run the kitchen.
Jason Kelce confesses why he is useless on Thanksgiving
Jason Kelce shares that he handles his four little girls, Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and baby Finnley, 7 months, while Kylie’s family runs the kitchen.
“We have Kylie’s family, we have four kids. So I’m going to have to be wrestling these kids. I don’t know.” Travis Kelce jumped in, teasing him to “get on all fours” and wrestle them, hinting at the wild, hectic day ahead.
Kelce joked that most of his Thanksgiving duties are more for show than actual help. “I’m just a huge inconvenience on Thanksgiving because Kylie and her mom are making everything,” he said.
While the ladies run the kitchen, Jason spends part of the day frying an extra turkey with his father, Ed, just for tradition and laughs. “For an hour of the day, I’m just completely useless and making an extra turkey that we don’t need,” he said, laughing.
Jason Kelce also talked about the 48-hour fast he just powered through with NFL fellow Marcus Spears ahead of Thanksgiving. He said the fast came after overindulging during his past trips, so he can enjoy the massive feast guilt-free.
“I’m about thirty-six hours in. Just the smell of food,” he joked, showing he’s counting down every second until he can dive into the feast.
On whether the fast is actually good for him, Kelce said, that If you go too long without food, it’s going to be bad for you. However, if you the right way, it is healthy.
“I think if you don’t eat food for long enough, it becomes unhealthy,” “if you do it for the right amount, it’s healthy. I don’t know.”
