Brad Pitt gets F1 star George Russell as his personal valet
Brad Pitt hires F1 star George Russell as his personal valet for a new Mercedes commercial. The duo teamed up to showcase the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe prototype in a captivating commercial film. The ad is unironically titled “The Drift of a Lifetime,” making perfect use of the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend.
The commercial film begins with thrilling shots of the new Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door Coupe Prototype and a statutory warning to viewers. Pitt looks dapper in a beige coat and walks up to the reception to ask for his car keys. The receptionist says, “Big fan.” Pitt responds, “Thanks.” “Of the car,” the receptionist quips.
The camera shifts to British F1 star George Russell waiting for orders. In a cheeky reference, the camera pans to Russell’s award, which reads, “Employee of the Month, George Russell. Outstanding commitment to speedy customer service.” The receptionist calls for Russell and warns him, “Need number 63 for Mr. Pitt. Be careful, not a scratch.”
Russell gets in the car, driving and showcasing a high-octane drift show, impressing viewers with the car’s speed and adrenaline rush.
At one point, the receptionist comments in a deadpan tone, “I noticed you have a moustache,” to Pitt, and he simply nods. Russell drives the car to the venue and impresses Pitt with a thrilling drift show. Russell comments, “Sorry about the wait,” to which Pitt responds, “Worth the wait. Get you on the next one,” and zooms away.
Russell revealed excitedly, “AMG has created something truly special here. I had an incredible day in Vegas with the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe prototype. The car feels fantastic, and I’m really impressed with the performance that AMG is bringing to the road. I think fans have something very special to look forward to.” (via NDTV).
