Nick Cannon Explains Why He Didn’t Want a ‘Freak’ Wife

Nick Cannon confesses he did not want a “freak” wife. He shared that the prospect of indulging in a three-way relationship repulsed him. This issue became the central topic of discussion on the Wednesday, November 26, episode of his podcast, Nick Cannon @ Night. Cannon married Mariah Carey for eight years, from 2008 to 2016.

Nick Cannon explained why he is averse to a “freak” wife on the latest episode of his podcast. He confessed he wasn’t interested in participating in “super freaky stuff” with a “wife or life partner.” He said, “If I was in a serious relationship, or with someone that I believe was potentially my wife or life partner, I don’t want to do super freaky stuff with them.”

Cannon shared that he previously had a “Madonna-wh**e” complex. It is based on the psychological and cultural concept where women are categorized into two types. The first type is the Madonna type, which is pious, virtuous, and motherly. The second type is bold, untamed, and sensuous.

Furthermore, he stated, “I’m in therapy now, but I can be honest enough to say I didn’t want my wife to be a freak. I didn’t want to do threesomes with my wife. I want my wife to be my wife, and I can get my threesomes elsewhere.”

His co-host, Megan Botnick, countered that even if a man has a “Madonna”-like wife, he can still crave a three-way relationship. Cannon refuted Botnick’s claims and said, “I honestly believe men grow out of that stage as well.” Continuing further, he stated, “I don’t think men always desire, you know, threesomes and the streets and stuff like that. I think everybody matures and probably wants a little slower lifestyle.”

Cannon has twelve children from multiple partners. He previously joked about his body count on the podcast and confessed he’s lost count of how many women he’s been with in the past.

He disclosed, “We joke, we have fun… But I think a person’s history is important. I wanna know everything. I don’t need to know the exact number. I lost count a long time ago. But I would like to know a little bit. At least from college forward.” (via Complex).
