After taking on the world of professional airline pilots (and getting a commercial pilot’s license in the process), Canadian actor Nathan Fielder is on Emma Slater’s radar.
The Dancing with the Stars pro recently threw out the name of the 4x Emmy-nominated comedian/writer/director. Pitching him for DWTS Season 35, Emma envisions Nathan’s ballroom training as being a crossover with his HBO show The Rehearsal.
Emma’s really good with unlikely dancing contestants. After all, she took on comedian Andy Richter and coached him all the way to the quarterfinals.

“I know who I want to dance with next season,” Emma said in her TikTok. “[It’s] Nathan Fielder, of the genius that is The Rehearsal and Nathan for You. [He is] hilarious, and I’m obsessed with him … He would be amazing on Dancing with the Stars.”
In HBO’s The Rehearsal, Nathan sets up real-world simulations to help people overcome their fears. Emma’s idea of staging a crossover with DWTS could actually be genius.
“The biggest, [most] hilarious moment in American history could be that Nathan fabricates this entire dancing competition,” Emma continued. “[It could be] a mock rehearsal for the real thing, or it could be that Dancing with the Stars is a mock rehearsal for something that he’s doing. [Having DWTS be the rehearsal for the real TV show] would be the biggest joke in the world, and I would be here for it.”
Fans of both shows embraced the idea enthusiastically. “The money I would pay to witness Nathan Fielder on dwts,” commented one follower.
But another commenter feigned to be a little hurt at Emma’s moving on so quickly. “My body’s not even cold yet,” her Andy Richter responded.
“Omg hahaha ANDY I love you,” Emma replied. “You’ll always be my number 1.”
Dancing with the Stars is now streaming on ABC and Disney Plus.
