Whitney Leavitt’s DWTS and SLOMW Co-Stars React to Roxie Hart Chicago News

Whitney Leavitt is getting virtual applause from her Secret Lives of Mormon Wives co-stars and Dancing with the Stars pros and celebrities. The reality star announced her Broadway debut as she joins the cast of Chicago in New York City. Everyone was really happy for her and looking forward to seeing her on the cell block.

Whitney Leavitt will make her Broadway debut

Whitney made her Broadway debut announcement via a post on her social media. In the video, she’s sitting with her back to the camera on a chair, dressed in all black. The Chicago music is playing, and she’s doing iconic Bob Fosse snaps until she turns as the music crescendoed to smile at the camera.

“Grateful beyond words to ANNOUNCE that I will be joining @chicagomusical in the iconic role of Roxie Hart. See you in New York City!” she captioned the post. This is her next project after her run on DWTS Season 34. The official Chicago account commented, “Welcome to the Cell Block.”

Whitney and her partner, Mark Ballas, danced their hearts out but were eliminated during the semi-finals. One of their dances was the Argentine tango to “Cell Block Tango,” which definitely helped her get the role.

Fans and friends celebrated the great news. Several of her DWTS castmates left congratulatory comments, like Alan Bernsten, Lindsay Arnold, Emma Slater, Dylan Efron, Ezra Sosa, Sasha Farber, and more. DWTS runner-up Alix Earle wrote, “YESSSSSS! I’m so excited for you, I have chills.”

Her partner Mark wrote, “You’re gonna KILL it. And who said murder’s not an art?”

Her SLOMW castmates were also sending flowers in her comments. Dakota Mortensen, Chase McWhorter, Mikayla Matthew, and Layla Taylor left their congratulations and well wishes. Co-star Mayci Neeley wrote, “So incredible. I cannot wait to watch.”

“That’s my girl!” wrote SLOMW’s Demi Engemann.

Whitney won’t be the first reality star to take on the Roxie Hart mantle. Erika Jayne of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills also played the part in 2020 and 2025 as well as Vanderpump Rules alum Ariana Madix, who debuted as Roxie Hart in 2024.

Dancing with the Stars is available to stream on Disney+.
