George Clooney recently shared the ups and downs of juggling fame and family, spilling a hilarious parenting moment that had him sweating about Amal’s reaction. The Oscar winner revealed that his 8-year-old daughter, Ella, is already rolling her eyes at him. But one car ride made him realize just how closely kids listen and repeat everything they hear.
George Clooney fears his wife, Amal’s, reaction if she learns he cursed in front of their 8-year-old
On Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast on Dec. 3, Clooney spilled a funny-but-scary parenting moment. Driving Ella to school, a driver cut him off, and Clooney blurted out a curse word. “F–king a–hole!” Minutes later, he heard his daughter echo it word-for-word from the backseat.
Clooney laughed nervously, knowing very well that his daughter would say it, and if his wife heard it, he would be in trouble. “And you know they’re going to say that, and my wife’s going to hear it, and then I’m dead,” Clooney said.
The 64-year-old Hollywood star also joked about the ups and downs of parenting, saying Ella and her twin brother Alexander are well-behaved. However, raising kids is a nonstop balancing act. “It’s a pretty funny adventure raising kids ’cause you don’t realize how much they’re listening to you,” Clooney said.
Clooney also opened up about co-parenting with Amal while juggling their busy careers. “You try to pace it so that I’m doing it and then she’s home, and then she goes, and I’m home. We try to mix it up a little bit,” Clooney explained at the Los Angeles premiere of Jay Kelly.
Even with everything, Clooney clearly soaks up these parenting moments, including the eye rolls and sneaky curse words. Even a mega-star can get blindsided by the sass of his own kids.
George Clooney and Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin) tied the knot in Venice back in 2014. Amal, a human rights lawyer, and George keep their family life mostly under wraps, but every now and then, they drop a peek at red carpets or in interviews. The duo are parents to twins Alexander and Ella, and are juggling Hollywood glitz and legal work with parenting.
