Shep Rose was clearly free as a bird while filming the early episode of Southern Charm Season 11. Despite ending the previous season by hooking up with Molly O’Connell, there was no indication of that brief romance. Rather, Shep is enamored with Charley. She, hilariously, likens his pursuits to that of texting with a father figure.
As for Molly, she had some flirty conversations with Kory Keefer. And is clearly enjoying the single life. So what were the reasons for Molly and Shep to part ways? The model addressed the issue during BravoCon 2025.
Molly O’Connell and Shep Rose “are just better as friends”
During the Season 10 reunion, the Southern Charm co-stars revealed that they spent the night together after the finale party. The tryst continued with another hook up before fizzling out. And Molly told Entertainment Tonight that it played out the way it was meant to.
“I think we are just better as friends,” Molly said during the interview. “I think on paper, all of it makes sense, but it’s Shep at the end of the day. But I love Shep. He’s so much fun. We had a fun time — a good time, not a long time.”
So Shep was a fleeting moment. However, it’s good to see the friendship remained intact. Shep was the sole cast member who showed true interest in Molly’s miniature tuba concerts.
As for Season 11, the drama has centered around Salley Carson’s pursuit of both Craig Conover and Austen Kroll. But Molly has her time in the spotlight, though not necessarily in a positive way. She told ET that upcoming events on Season 11 were “extremely eventful” and “dramatic.”
“I’m a little stressed out to watch it back,” Molly reflected. “I think if you knew me in my 20s, you know that I can pop off and get a little crazy, but I think a lot of people haven’t seen that from me, so I think maybe some anger comes out, and I might surprise people.”
