As reported by Page Six, James Holt, the chief of the charity organization Archewell Philanthropies, has stepped down from his role. He has been associated with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s charity for a long time now. As per a source, “They’ve essentially shuttered Archewell,” which means that the brand could crumble, especially if more staffers leave.
Meanwhile, Holt gave a statement to PEOPLE, sharing his experience with the Archewell Foundation. He said, “After five incredible years in Los Angeles, it’s time for my family to return to London.” He continued, “When I pass the baton to the team leading Archewell Philanthropies in the coming months, I’ll do so with immense pride and optimism for what lies ahead.”
Talking about his experience with the Sussexes, he said, “I’ll miss my colleagues deeply, and I’m grateful to Harry and Meghan for everything they’ve done — for me, and for the countless people we’ve worked to support.”
While Holt was full of praise for Harry and Markle, the royal couple also applauded his “stellar support,” which he offered for nearly a decade. Meanwhile, a representative for Harry and Markle shared that, while Holt has stepped down as chief of Archewell Philanthropies, he will continue to “remain a senior philanthropic advisor for the couple and Archewell Philanthropies, supporting their humanitarian trips overseas in 2026.”
However, the worry might still not be over for the Sussexes, as it has been reported that their production business doesn’t have many employees, with more senior staffers leaving.
