Sydney Sweeney & Lindsay Lohan’s Iconic Photos Spark Fan Debate

Fans are drawing comparisons between Sydney Sweeney‘s new Variety photoshoot and Lindsay Lohan‘s 2004 Rolling Stone photoshoot. In the photo, Sweeney sported a pink bikini as she sat on a block of ice. The photoshoot has garnered mixed reactions from fans, with some criticizing her for copying Lohan.

The Euphoria star recently did a Variety photoshoot, where she sported a hot-pink bikini, paired with soft glam makeup, open wavy hair, and block heels. She sat on a block of huge ice, posing sideways, her surprised expression facing the camera. Many fans found the photoshoot to be similar to Lohan’s 2004 Rolling Stone photo.

In it, Lohan wore a blue bikini, layered with a shirt, with a few buttons open. She complemented it with burgundy open hair, minimal makeup, and blue heels. She sat stylishly on the artificial ice block, with her flawless face towards the camera.

While some appreciated Sweeney’s photoshoot, others criticized her for copying Lohan’s style. A fan wrote, “Bye bye Sydney sweetie. You can never be her.” Sharing a picture of Lohan’s photoshoot, another added, “She wishes.” A third one mentioned, “Damn she really approved this?” “first copying britney and now lindsay… DO NOT TOUCH MY FAMILY YOU SICKO,” a fourth user added.

Last year, in an interview with Variety, Sweeney acknowledged the fact that she has no control over the body-shaming comments she gets about her appearance. She said, “I see it, and I just can’t allow myself to have a reaction. I don’t know how to explain it – I’m still trying to figure it out myself.”

She further explained, “People feel connected and free to be able to speak about me in whatever way they want, because they believe that I’ve signed my life away. That I’m not on a human level anymore, because I’m an actor. That these characters are for everybody else, but then me, as Sydney is not for me anymore. This weird relationship that people have with me that I have no control or say over.” Her address came amid online reactions to her SNL hosting gig.
